In contrast to her contemporaries, who went on a severe eating routine system to shed those extra kilos, Dum Laga Ke Haisha actress Bhumi Pednekar says she never starved herself to dispose of her more full figure. According to a PTI report, the Mumbai-conceived actress, who lost 27 kg since last December, said she altogether making the most of her weight reduction venture. "The voyage of shedding weight was tough but the only good thing was it did not take a toll on my health. It was all natural and planned. It didn't affect me mentally, which generally happens. But I did have to complete a great deal of hard work. It was a fun procedure for me. I really delighted in doing it. There wasn't any day when I was missing on anything because I was taking the without fat version of it," she said.

Continuing the tradition, Yash Raj Films has once again launched another face with their latest release, Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Bhumi Pednekar marks her entrance in Bollywood with this film where she is paired opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. Apparently actress Rani Mukerji, who is married to YRF's head honcho, Aditya Chopra, was also dazzled with Bhumi's acting hacks. According to a report on Businessofcinema.com, Rani Mukerji had seen a couple of parts of the film and was intrigued with Bhumi's on-screen nearness and confidence. The report further stated that Rani wanted to personally meet Bhumi to congratulate her for the manner where she had handled the job. 

According to a report Bhumi had auditioned for the lead job at least multiple times. The report further stated that Bhumi was an active part of the auditions for Dum Laga Ke Haisha and had auditioned 100 young ladies for the job before auditioning for the same herself. Finally, she was shortlisted to play the lead by director Sharat Kataria.

The report further cited YRF's casting director Shanoo Sharma as saying that YRF had marked a three-film deal with Bhumi. Shanoo also remarked that she considered Bhumi to be her baby sister. After Parineeti Chopra, who shot to progress post her stint in YRF, it appears that Bhumi is all set to repeat history. 

The character played by Bhumi Pednekar in Dum Laga Ke Haisha is on the heavier side. Notwithstanding, apparently Bhumi was never heavy in real life. According to a report on Indianexpress.com, Bhumi was stout when they started-off with the film but gained 10-15 kgs more for her character, Sandhya. The report further cited Dum Laga Ke Haisha's director, Sharat Kataria as saying that Bhumi was mentored by Seema Pahwa who plays Bhumi's mother in the film.
